Throughout our lives, our skin gets exposed to dirty air, harsh chemicals, and other microscopic factors. Chemical peels remove the outer layers of skin to deeply clean the skin. Located in Bala Cynwyd and serving Philadelphia, Pollard Plastic Surgery offers chemical peel treatments to patients who desire restored, refreshed and radiant-looking skin.
What is a Chemical Peel?
Our chemical peel procedure is simple and effective. A combination of chemicals is applied to the skin in a thin layer. The chemicals begin working on the skin, stimulating the skin to increase its natural cleansing process and shed the outer layers of skin. Each peel is timed, and then the chemical solution is removed. A neutralizing solution is applied to stop this process, and your skin is gently cleansed to remove all of the chemical solutions. After your chemical peel, you will need to be cautious of sun exposure. Your skin will be sensitive. You may desire to stay home for a couple of days while the skin heals and rejuvenates itself by naturally shedding dead skin cells. Follow all care instructions to ensure optimal success.
