Microdermabrasion

Does your skin have a soft, glowing appearance, or is it rough and dull? Do you have age spots, acne scars, fine wrinkles or dry, flaking skin? If so, Microdermabrasion (Power Peel) may be a solution.

Microdermabrasion is a nonsurgical treatment that produces immediate results—your skin will feel smoother and softer after the first treatment.  It is effective in reducing fine lines, "crow's feet," age spots and acne scars. By removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells, microdermabrasion reveals younger, fresher skin cells beneath and stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen, to make your face look younger and feel firmer. Anesthesia is not required for microdermabrasion treatments.

Benefits of Microdermabrasion:

  • Nonsurgical, safe and effective

  • Virtually no side effects

  • Gives your skin a fresh, healthy-looking glow

  • Effective on all skin colors and types

  • Normal activities can be resumed immediately

FAQs

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is the ultimate non-invasive, non-surgical skin conditioning treatment. This painless procedure can take as little as 20 minutes.

How does microdermabrasion eliminate wrinkles?

The technician polishes the skin using a delicate wand that vacuums micro-crystals across the skin's surface, resulting in a gentle abrasion or "polishing" process. Each treatment takes from 30 minutes to an hour.

How many treatments are required?

This gently abrasive technique produces results after the first session, although a course of weekly treatments is recommended for the optimal outcome. The number of treatments recommended for maximal results can range from 5 to 12, spaced from two to three weeks apart. Maintenance of results requires periodic repeat treatments after the initial regimen is completed. Microdermabrasion may be combined with a light chemical peel to increase the effect.

When is microdermabrasion used?

Microdermabrasion is ideal for:

  • People who cannot take time off for healing from chemical peels, laser resurfacing, or cosmetic surgery
  • People with sensitive skin that reacts to makeup or chemicals
  • People with oily, acne-prone skin that does not improve from acne remedies
  • People with early signs of aging
